When I go through my daily ritual of browsing through peopl's blogs, like almost every post I read seems sad. Or is complaining about something. Or is scolding someone. And almost everyone I know is sad, or seems to be sad.
Working adults are sad because they find their careers really stressful while still having to care for and provide for a family. And usually, they believe their boss(es) are overly demanding on them. However, if they are the boss, they believe their workers are not doing enough to justify the salary they take home. So whether one is the employer or the employee, they are both sad.
Non-working adults are sad as well. Because, the world outside is much more interesting than the world at home, because all you do at home is to stare at irritating children who irritate the shit out of you. And also, probably worrying about health problems and symptoms which are beginning to surface as they approach midlife and beyond. So they too, are sad as well.
People serving National Service are generally sad as well. When they undergo training, most of them cannot wait for the day they graduate and don their rank. After that, they cannot wait for their ORD date to arrive. And they tell me to enjoy studying now, before I share their pain soon. And once they ORD and get back to civilian life, they cannot wait to ROD.
People studying for major examinations like the A Levels are sad as well. Because they know they need to study but they would very much rather be doing something else. And they cannot understand why on earth do you need to know how to draw a graph when maybe you will be a lawyer in future. Moreover, people studying for promotional examintions are sad as well. Because if you don't study hard enough, you might just be giving your principal the chance to retain you, and waste away a year of your life. People not studying for examintions are sad as well, because they find life too boring and need a spark to make it a tad more exciting and interesting.
People who are not in relationships are sad as well. Because they would dearly love to have that special someone to care for, share their joys and pains with. But people who are in relationships are sad as well, because they cannot learn to tolerate each other? Or maybe they are sad because they don't know when is the next time they can meet each other.
People who are young are sad, because they cannot wait to grow up and gain independence and freedom they crave for. But people who are old are sad, because they wish they could relive the days of their youth when everything was so much more fun. Children wish to be adults, and adults yearn to be children.
I guess, life really is not that bad for many of us, although we always make it out to be. The one who learns how to enjoy and cherish life even in the midst of different trials and tribulations is the one who would have lived his or her life to the fullest.
That being said, I'm not one of them.
Reminiscence the past, cherish the present, look forward to the future with hope.

When discipline is present, it is evident. It is the precise control of every aspect of one's self. It is the bedrock of success.
